(These are 2 week units of work. There are a number of tasks to complete so please don't feel you need to rush these, these will be the English Tasks for next week too)

Spellings - suffix '-ness'

Use the grid above to create words. What do they think will happen to the words ending in y when the suffix -ness is added to the end of the word? Ask them to think back to when they added other suffixes to words ending in ‘y’, for example, copy, copier; happy, happily, happier, happiest.  (y changes to i) Discuss what the words mean. Explain the suffix ‘-ness’ changes an adjective to a noun and means ‘the state of being’, for example, the state of being happy or sad. Children to write these in a list and learn them using techniques from school e.g. pyramids, in sentences, wrong and right spellings

French - Mrs Mackintosh has set you some French to do:
Hello everyone, can you please revise your greetings in French with the people you live with.

Story: The sale of video games has increased by 44% in the UK during the lockdown period.
Question:  Are video games the next best thing to our real lives?

🌟Mrs Burton's Ongoing Project - Who is your hero?🌟
When I was in primary school I did a project all about my hero. It took me weeks! I learned lots of facts, made a booklet, drew and cut out pictures, and I can still remember facts about Gary Winston Lineker now! So it's your turn, choose someone who you admire, learn all about them, then show what you know in whatever way you want e.g scrapbook, PowerPoint, poster. This should be a project you work on over the next few weeks rather than complete in 1 session.
